ah! now that I'm not taking the man's money to do it I feel so naughty spending time checking in with the blogger world. I had become so accustomed to burning up the hours on the clock when there was nothing else to do by entering this cyber world and dawdling like crazy - must stay focused now, must be crazy organized and productive every second (HA) I can't seem to wake up before 10am lately so I guess therein lies the guilt at not being more productive. Plus! doesn't it feel like the day is already over and wasted when it is so very gray and rainy outside? Never mind all that moaning though I have a foolproof motivator - a steno book with little lists all thru it. When I am done updating this blog (I've been so remiss) I'll write on the list "update blog" then put a think line through it - so at the end of the day I'll feel accomplished. This would've been my first day back at work so I am being a little tough on myself - I'll finish this, go across the street to my little coffee shop (bringing my steno book of course), prioritize the day and get cracking. I'm very excited about my major list items: "go see all doctors before insurance runs out, give blood, certify for this weeks unemployment, make chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans on the side (part of the "be excited about eating at home plan"), return extra Christmas purchases, start doing yoga a lot, don't spenf too much money, take "how to be a professional organizer and how to be an interior designer" at learning annex to determine aptitude and possibilities, teach myself autocad, get a Brooklyn library card and find my nearest library -AutoCAD book... It all just makes your head spin, right? I've already eliminated some items too so there is truly never a dull moment.

I've had really fun holidays! New year's eve was at a crazy German beer hall outside of Baltimore called blob's park - I cannot recommend it highly enough, like punkrock girl I hold rather low expectations for new year's eve. I really enjoy the sense of passage and releasing the previous year and new beginnings blah blah but don't always expect to pee my pants with unabashed bacchanalian mayhem that particular night. Blob's park couldn't have been more of a treat - It was a multi-generational, family reunion-like affair with a live polka/waltz band and streamers, noisemakers and goofy hats on every table. It was great to stroll in at 11:15 (after a second viewing of the return of the king, geek!) , not get charged the exorbitant new year's eve cover charge - get 3 lovely cocktails for $9 bucks total and dance my fanny off with a beloved friend and a beloved husband. It bodes so very well for the year to come! Nothing like the chicken dance to start your year off right.
