sooooo maybe its time for a new color scheme? The black background is starting to bring me down, man. Maybe thats just because I'm at a highly fragile stage of evolution-morphing into homeowner-empty pockets-frightened one.
Maybe its the time of the season (you know the one where suddenly you begin to crave mashed potatoes and gravy for every meal, mmm with pot roast, perhaps),
Maybe its the ongoing fall sinus headache pressure addled brain
-whatever...I think I may change the background peeps-just watch me! I feel the adrenaline rush now of spontaneous, wild, unabashed change....watch out! stand back, something may happen any second!

or maybe I'll just get back to work, make little picutres advising other corporations how many "heads to reduce," how much money they saved by moving the plant to Mexico...that's so much more rewarding...

pot roast, mmmm

Read something excellent today in the mystery SHAPE (women's health and work out mag) that I receive monthly at the office for no known reason. There was a study relating early womanhood eating habits to later weight control. At the beginning of the study the women's current eating habits dictated which group they would fall into. Here's a rank order of their gain over 12 years:
1) Wine and moderate eating group-about two glasses of wine a day, ok food choices not always great-not always bad
ONLY 22% became overweight
2) Heart healthy-fruits, veggies, whole grains-less fat and saturated fat than other groups
24% became overweight
3) High-fat group-more animal and vegetable fats-more visible fats (mayonaise, dressings) fat laden sweets and desserts
28% became overweight
4) Light eating group-dieting behaviors, fewer calories but proportionately more fat and saturated fat than heart healthy-more likely to experience chronic weight fluctuation
30% became overweight
5) Empty calories group-animal and vegetable fats, fatty sweets and desserts and sodas (uh oh) and other sweetened beverages FEW fruits, veggies and whole grains
41% became overweight

I'm really impressed with group #3's positioning and I feel hopeful for the Julia/Julie Project-28% is not a sure thing, man! and you get nights off for massive vegetable consumption... I sort feel that I'm hovering dangerously between #1 and #5-its the damned Dr. Pepper-I love it so-I do also love yellow orange and green things though - maybe that helps

Wish it'd go to friends
Strangers walkin thru the place
Slipshod Realty, yikes!

Lu's lame usage of creative outlet:
Looks like our two bedroom (Park Slope) won't be taken by friends-
In fact the evil crone of Slipshod realty who ran us all over when we were looking (on a visit from Austin with only 4 days to find something)
was in our home today showing some prospective renters around...if any one wants a lovely and beloved park slope rental, drop me a line (~1800, we pay less but they up it whenever they can) 2nd street between 5th and 6th Ave

As they say "prime slope"

Thanks bek for the managable haiku a day method of remembering to post
